The different types of cookie
We use different types of cookie. Here is a description of what the different cookies do:
- Necessary/technical cookies: activate the basic functions on our site. For example, the menu.
- Statistical cookies: gather information for analyses of what is most popular on the site, for example, and what should therefore be easier to find, so that we can make the site more user-friendly. Statistical cookies can also be used to determine how many have visited the site.
- Preference/functional cookies: remember the choices you make on the website, for example language settings.
- Marketing cookies: used to track visits across the site. The objective is to show adverts for things you have looked at. The Capital Region of Denmark makes every effort to avoid marketing cookies.
The Region works to define unclassified cookies. An unclassified cookie is one of the above four cookies that has not yet been typed.
How long are cookies stored on your device?Cookies have different expiry dates. Some are deleted when you end your visit to the website, others are stored for a certain period, but renewed when you next visit the site.
The list of cookies or the cookie banner shows how long the cookies are stored for. The expiry dates for the cookie types are determined by the latest visit to the website and are extended automatically when you revisit the site.
